Another recipe, ingredients all from nature, no preservatives, additives, artificial colouring nor artificial flavours. This time i have a picture for you of the raw ingredients instead not the finished dish. It is important for those starting the 21 day detox to start training your senses to associate and identify food in its natural form always. This will make the detox journey so enjoyable
1 tbsp.coconut oil
Chicken pieces (eight in total)
3 finely chopped onions
2 peppers, thickly sliced
5 carrots cut into 2cm (3⁄4in) chunks
2 courgettes cut into 2cm (3⁄4in) chunks
3 Large Tomatoes, cut into large chunks
1 Large sweet potato, peeled and cut into large chunks
1 level tbsp coconut flour
600 ml hot chicken stock
Herbs to suit
Half a lemon
Salt/Pepper (to taste)
Note: it is likely the courgettes/tomatoes/peppers will break down to a pulp, but this does add colour flavour and depth to the dish.
Heat oil in a large, flameproof casserole. Season chicken pieces and brown all over. Remove and set aside.
Preheat oven to 200ºC (180ºC fan oven) mark 6.
Add the onion(s), peppers, carrots, courgettes, tomatoes and potato to the pan, and cook, stirring, for 5-10min. Pour in the stock. Season well, and then return the browned chicken to the pan.
Add the herbs, squeeze over the juice from the lemon half and pop the squeezed lemon half into the pan. Cover and bring the casserole to the boil.
Cook in the oven for 25-30min until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce is piping hot. There you have it real food from nature. REMEMBER EAT WELL TO LIVE HEALTHY
