Let food be your medicine & build your immune system - Tip 2

As mentioned in my previous post, whilst we are all in lock-down, we can use this period as a stepping stone to improve and boost our immune system with the very food we eat.

Our immune system solely depends on what we do and do not eat, this then determines whether the body can be strong enough to ward off infections and COVID-19 being one of them. By eating the right foods, the body builds a strong immune system, preventing it from being a host for infections.


Over the next posts both here and on Facebook, I will provide a few tips to boost your immune system and keep healthy.

TIP #2


Remove any foods that cause irritation to the gut. 80% of your immune system is in the gut.

A majority of your lymphatic system is in the gut. When the gut is irritated it goes without saying your immune system is compromised.


Foods that irritate the gut could be foods with preservatives, artificial flavours, artificial colouring, legumes and grains.
