Simple Mayonnaise

In my book i do go on a lot about eating real natural food and moving away from preservatives, additives, artificial colouring and artificial flavours. These substances are foreign to your body and interfere with normal gut flora by causing an imbalance on the good and bad bacteria in your gut. This has a knock on effect on your immune system and how you fight and ward off infections
I know some of you love your mayonnaise maybe just like I do. There is still a way to still make your own mayonnaise without any preservatives
Just the way nature Intended
INGREDIENTS
1 medium egg (room temperature not coming from fridge).
¼ teaspoon mustard powder
½ teaspoon salt
Lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
250 mls olive oil
RECIPE
Mix 50 mls olive oil, eggs, mustard powder and salt in a bowl
Blend together with either a blender or food processor. Slowly infuse the remaining oil little by little
Once emulsified add lemon juice
Now you have your own mayonnaise to enjoy. Transfer into a jar (250 mls) and store in your fridge and should keep up to 7 days after the “best before” date on your eggs. Note the date on the egg carton and add a week and that is when your mayonnaise expires.
Spice it up.You can make variations and add any spices or ingredients you like.
I love blending mine with hot scotch bonnet
You can add
Garlic
Lime
Coriander
Avocado
Experiment and enjoy
