Let food be your medicine & build your immune system - Tip 3

As mentioned in my previous post, whilst we are all in lock-down, we can use this period as a stepping stone to improve and boost our immune system with the very food we eat.


Our immune system solely depends on what we do and do not eat, this then determines whether the body can be strong enough to ward off infections and COVID-19 being one of them. By eating the right foods, the body builds a strong immune system, preventing it from being a host for infections.


Over the next posts both here and on Facebook, I will provide a few tips to boost your immune system and keep healthy.

TIP #3


Eat a diet low in carbohydrates, good animal fats and protein. Fats help restore normal gut function which is pivotal to your healthy immune system.


Your fats can come from butter, ghee, lard and your proteins can come from beef, lamb, goat, chicken, duck, turkey, pheasant, guinea fowl and pork.


While we might not be able to control the virus and other infections, we do have the power to control the host and thus our body. This can be done by optimising our metabolic health so any infection is not welcome and will find it hard to multiply.
