Let food be your medicine & build your immune system

Whilst we are all in lock-down, we can use this period as a stepping stone to improve and boost our immune system with the very food we eat.


Our immune system solely depends on what we do and do not eat, this then determines whether the body can be strong enough to ward off infections and COVID-19 being one of them. By eating the right foods, the body builds a strong immune system, preventing it from being a host for infections.


Over the next posts both here and on Facebook, I will provide a few tips to boost your immune system and keep healthy.

TIP #1

Keep your glucose levels down. This is achieved by eating low carbohydrate vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli.


Once your glucose levels are down, your insulin stays low. The body works better on low levels of insulin in the blood. This boosts the immune system.

Most unfriendly bacteria thrive on sugar and once void of high glucose levels the unfriendly bacteria dies and the good bacteria that serves you loves this. Once sugar is down, insulin goes down and inflammation also comes down.
